Abstract


Lichen are pioneer plants that grow in the critical area. The thallus based on morphology are divide into crustose, foliose, fruticose,  corticolous and squamulose. Lichen corticolous are found as an epiphytes on the stem bark substrate. Forest area is the lichen natural habitat. This research is located in the forest of Sekipan Tawangmangu Karanganyar Regency Central Java Province precisely in Kalisoro Village. This forest area is a tropical rain forest, it’s an ecosystem of living things. This study aims to identify the lichen corticolous that grows in the area of ​​Sekipan Forest Village Kalisoro Tawangmangu Karanganyar Central Java Province. There are 9 species of lichen corticolous Usnea dasaea, Usnea hirta, Usnea subfloridana, Usnea flammea. Usnea subscrabosa, Usnea rubicunda. Usnea sp, Usnea glabrata, and Usnea longissima. Lichen gained entry in Parmeliaceae Familia. Distribution of lichen colonies corticolous at an altitude of 1300 meters above sea level as much as 22 colonies, an altitude of 1400 meters above sea level as much as 42 colonies and at an altitude of 1500 meters above sea level as much as 172 colonies. Morphology lichen thallus corticolous have type fruticose, with a cylindrical shape and resembles a shrub with a variety of colors and different sizes.
