The Influence of Application Group Investigation Learning Model to Critical Thinking of Senior High School Number 2 Palembang Grade X Students on Animals World

The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of group investigation model in student skills by analyzing, synthesizing and creating through critical thinking indicators that are formulating the problem, objectives, concepts, information, point of view, interpretation and inference, and the implications and consequences. The design of this study is used Pre-Experimental Design with one-group pretest-posttest design. This study also used single research group and the experimental group. The research was conducted in Senior High School Number 2 Palembang in the academic year 2016/2017. The sample consisted of one class, X MIPA 2 with 34 students. Data collection techniques in this study were (1) a written test, a test in the form of preliminary tests to determine the ability of students prior learning and a final test to determine the critical thinking skills of students after learning by using groupinvestigation model. (2) Observation sheet, aimed to determine the students activity during the learning process by using group investigation model. (3) Questionnaire sheet, aimed to investigate the response of the students during the learning process by usinggroup investigation model.Data analysis is used the assistance of the Statistical Program 22 Social Science (SPSS 22), t-test results using one-sample t test found that the significance value is 0.000, which means that the significance value <0.05 at 5% level(α = 0.05) it can be concluded that the learning model group investigation significantly influence the critical thinking skills of students.
