Design of Realistic Mathematical Learning for Topic Painting Triangle

Abstract


Based on the interview results conducted by researchers with teachers, there were some problems that occured that was (1) students have not get the material to paint triangle, (2) students were not active in the learning process that took place. This study aims to (1) describe the learning path by using realistic mathematical approach to painting triangle for grade VIII students in SMP Islam Wonopringgo, (2) to describe the result of study of class VIII students in SMP Islam Wonopringgo after students undergo the process of learning mathematics by using realistic approach triangular painting material. The type of research was design research. The research subjects were 5 students of class VIII SMP Islam Wonopringgo. Data collection methods used were documentation, provide LKS and test. Data analysis used in this study based on Miles and Huberman was data reduction, data presentation and conclusion and verification. The results of this study were obtained by doing the learning process in the 5 meetings. In general, the steps taken by the researcher in the learning path were as follows: (1) the researcher gave problem with the matter of the perception of the circle, (2) the researcher gave problem with the material of painting triangle if known to the three side, (3) the researcher gave problem with the painting material (4) the researcher gave problem with the triangular painting material if it was known two sides and one angle, (5) the researcher gave problem with the material of painting triangle if known two angle and one side.

The result of student learning after they understand mathematics learning process by using realistic mathematics approach to painting material triangle that was (1) student became more active in process of learning by using realistic approach with 70% percentage of learning process that take place, (2) student could to use knowledge which has been obtained at the previous meeting to solve the next problem without contextual help with 80% percentage of the learning process that took place, (3) students could understand about the material of painting triangle with problem given by the researcher with 75% percentage of student work result.
