Abstract


Abstract - Education programs in the border areas are changing almost every year but as the program changes, education issues in the border areas of East Kalimantan and North Kalimantan always repeat and even new problems emerge. Based on the problems, the purpose of this research is to find out the problems of the assessment used by the education manager in evaluating the education program in the border area of ​​East Kalimantan and North Kalimantan province. In order to achieve the research objectives, the research method used is qualitative research with interview guidance instrument to get in-depth data related to assessment problems used by education managers in evaluating education programs in the border areas of East Kalimantan and North Kalimantan provinces. The location and respondents of East Kalimantan border area research are the education offices of West Kutai district while the North Kalimantan border is the education office of Nunukan district. The data analysis using categorization in the table with the category is less appropriate, appropriate, very appropriate and interpreted through descriptive analysis. The result of the research shows that the assessment problems used by education managers in the education sector in evaluating education programs in the border areas of East Kalimantan and North Kalimantan are in a less suitable category assesement to evaluate the planning of educational programs and assessments to evaluate the implementation of educational programs. Based on the results of this study, it is recommended to overcome the problems of educational programs is the use of authentic assessment in evaluating education programs that are based on real and urgent needs in the border areas of East Kalimantan and North Kalimantan.
